Heorot And Beowulf Comparison

First of all the "Beowulf " poem from The Norton Anthology of World Literature, in the section of "the Hero Comes to Heorot" Beowulf said " They had seen me blotered in the blood of enemies / when I battled and bound five beasts, / raided a troll-nest and in the night-sea slaughtered sea-brutes."(419-22 900) to King Hrothgar when he asked for a permission to fight Grendel in behalf of Danish people. From this line the reader could see the true character of the Beowulf ,a fearsome warrior who is known and famous for fought and eliminated monsters and beasts but not humans. In the "Celebration at Heorot " section from "Beowulf " poem, the poet portray the scene of Grendel loss as "With his death upon him, he had dived deep / into the marsh-den, drowned out his life / his heathen soul: hell claimed him there."(849-51 909). In this lines the poet express Grendel as a heathen soul because he was curse by gods and he include that Grendel will go to hell because of his sins and gods hate him. The idea of the poet here was that the heathens are always wrong and outcast because of that gods hate them and there are no sins for murder them. Which again share the same ideology with the poem "Song of Roland". In "Song of Roland" the poet tell the scene of Archbishop Turpin preach before they battle with thousands of Saracens as Archbishop tell " Fight to defend the holy Christian faith...if you die here, you will stand up holy martyrs, / you will have seats in highest Paradise." (1129-35 1005-1006). From this lines the reader could see the massage from the poet which state that there is no sin in murder if they killed the heathens; moreover, in this poem its even mention that they will get a place in highest paradise for eliminating the
