One solution could be to have more face to face meetings, but separate them according to purpose. By increasing the number of meetings, they will be able to update each other more often. This would also separate the two focuses. This allows them adequate time to discuss all their ideas. According to Polzer, Vargas, and Elfenbein, the meetings were more of a brainstorming session.
