His mother would enforce some not so good child labor, she brewed moonshine and she would force him and his siblings to work on the still. Henry’s father was an alcoholic and his father also lost his legs due to a train accident. His mother was a prostitute and made him watch her and other men do sexual acts. Henry’s mother would also beat him if he didn’t do what she asked him to do. Henry lost his eye at the age of 7 because his brother stabbed him. As a child Henry admitted to like cutting up animals. He also spent time in and out of jail as a teen for crimes that included burglary and theft. As he got older, he grew more distant and became angry. Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the world's most twisted serial killers, actually grew up in a good home with good parents. He was born May 21, 1960 into a good family. He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of 4, when he had surgery to correct a double hernia, and this seemed to affect and change his actions and behavior. Over the course of 13 years he killed 17 males between the years 1978 and 1991. He often killed African American males at gay bars, malls, and bus stops. He lured them with promises of money or sex and then gave them alcohol laced with drugs before strangling them to death. After killing the males he would have sexual intercorse with the dead bodies before dismembering them and disposing of them, often keeping their skulls or genitals as souvenirs. Jeffrey claimed his compulsions toward necrophilia and murder began around the age 14. Compulsion in serial killers start out in the adolescent years (“Jeffrey Dahmer - Murder”). There are 3 main ones found. Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) is one type of mental disorder found in serial killers. APD is the most common mental disorder found in serial killers. Many individuals with this aren’t psychopaths,but, obviously, some are. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is another type of mental disorder found in serial killers. This mental disorder is characterized by emotional instability, anxiety, and psychotic-like symptoms, such as when someone afflicted suddenly becomes very paranoid or suspicious of others. With this disorder, the person will have zero sympathy for others and often impulsive anger. Schizophrenia is the third type of mental disorder found in serial killers.
