Henry Ford's Argumentative Essay

Decent Essays
Henry Ford makes a great point when he states that “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” (1863 - 1947). Many people may not comprehend what he means by his statement. I, however; think it’s self explanatory. I think Ford is simply stating that if you believe that you can do something, then you convince yourself that you can do it. Although, if you persuade yourself that you can’t do it then you won’t. Therefore, either you can, or you can’t, you’re right. In my opinion, this makes Fords’ statement: “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” a true and accurate statement.

ed he “would rather die a thousand deaths” than surrender to Grant (Winik 168). Plus, when you take into consideration that the Confederate president, Jefferson Davis, had already supported the idea of guerilla warfare, it is obvious that Alexander’s plan was a tempting option from Lee’s point of view. Even with all the benefits guerilla warfare would have had for Lee, he still decided against it, largely due to his sense of duty to the country. Lee was the hero of the Confederates, and had he accepted the idea of guerilla warfare, many others resisting the Union would have followed him.…

Campbell. Session1.Journal/1 Twain appealed that writers must write what they know, but I understood in fresh youth that writers craft fragile inventions whereby our limited insight, however varied and aged, permits fact and fiction coexistence—such as prosthetic limbs amend and represent reality—and therefore I cannot recommend the reader proceed further before thoroughly grasping this: Strong coffee is not synonymous with dark coffee, and the next person who says ‘expresso’ is getting it brewed into their nostrils. At sixteen primal years of age, words like ‘macrocosmic,’ ‘chiastic,’ and ‘self-referential’ began filtering into my vernacular.…
