The first drive in movie was created on June 6, 1933, by salesman Richard M. Hollingshead in Camden, N.J (McLaughlin). Drive-in movies became a big hit for Americans around the US, and by 1958, there were nearly 5,000 theaters across the U.S. This drive-in era was popular until around the 1980’s when people realized watching movies inside are a whole lot better, and by 1995 there were only 500 drive-in movie places around the US (McLaughlin). From drive-in movies to the first drive through these two things were created due to the invention of cars, and if there were no cars then these ideas would never have come up. In order to make cars there has to be materials like wood or steel. Not only do cars help Americans, but help the steel industry and the wood industry and every other industry that is needed to make a car. One big change that cars had on the industry was jobs. People before cars were made have to go and get a job that was close to their house. Now because of cars people can have the job they want because they can drive there instead. This impacted the economy in a huge way because before the people might not have enjoyed the job and therefore did not try, but because they can drive and go to the job they want they will try on the job because they like it. This helps the growth in the economy. Another thing cars help is when the radio was added to cars people would listen to songs and ads. This would help the people's songs and items that their advertising because the people would hear it and go get it. This helped with marketing because when people go buy the item the company gets money, which they can use for other things. Cars have made a huge impact on the American industry in a positive way by increasing the GDP, helping with growth in the economy, and helping other businesses like the steel, aluminum, or wood companies.
