I wish that Douglas Brinkley had spent more time delving into Henry Ford’s childhood, what Henry Ford was doing while he was being accused for being on the Nazi’s side during World War ll, and if anyone else tried the five-dollar-a-day-wage. To begin, I feel as of the biography would have been better if it had more information about Henry Ford’s childhood. I found from my other research that Ford spent most of his childhood in a one room school and doing farm chores. Knowing that from previous research, it would be useful to know how he performed in school. Next, I really would have wanted to know what Henry Ford was doing while he was being thought to be on the Nazi’s side(449-451). For example, in Wheels for the World it says that he and another car manufacturer were being accused to be on the Nazi’s side, but does not say anything else about them until the two have decided to help(451). With the information of knowing what he did while he was being accused, it probably would have explained more of why he changed his mind of choosing a side. Lastly, I would have liked to know if anyone tried the five-dollar-a-day-wage, because it was certainly effective on the Ford Motor Company(161-162). For instance, if another manufacture company have tried that system it would have answered another question of was it effective. Knowing the answers to both of these questions would have been very useful to my information, to know if the Ford Motor Company was also influential in this way to other companies and not only the middle class. Although the book missed these points that I would have liked to know, it still aided me with a wide spread amount of other useful
