Mr. Thoreau was born on July 22, 1817, Concord, Massachusetts. He was best known for his poetry and tax resistant. He was a very bright human being and knew is rights. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in India. Mr. Gandhi led India’s independence movement in the 1930s and 1940s by speaking softly without carrying much of a big stick, facing down the British colonialists with stirring speeches and non- violent protest. Gandhi was best known for Indian nationalist leader Mahatma. What Mr. Gandhi did was something mouth opening. While the government took away the rights of selling “salt” something that the Indian people consumed and sailed to provide their families. The gov. banned them from doing so. Gandhi wasn’t so pleased of the idea so he made this march called the “salt march.” Gandhi said “my followers must have self- confidence to be succeed.” Where Gandhi gathered people to go to the council and convince them about their rights. After they went Gandhi was jailed for fighting and speaking the truth. At the end the council was convinced and the Indian people got their rights. Later on Gandhi died on January 30,
