At the sight of this remarkable landmark, one can only get the sense of: Titanic grandeur meets college retro. Its the location of the University of Tampa campus where old and new collide daily. This elderly wonder has a beautiful Moorish style architecture which was built in 1891. The outside of the Plant Hotel building, has an abundance of cobblestone pathways and old-style street lamps and signs, that are captivating and breathtaking all at the same time. On the outside of the building, one can’t help but gaze up at its splendor and beauty with a longing interest to discover the mysteries it may hold answers to; on the inside. Plant, seemingly took precise planning with every small detail in the design of his grand hotel. Life was given to everything from the glimmering, shining and marvelous glow of the minarets, down to the smallest items such as silverware in the dining rooms. Mr. Plant obviously wanted the hotel to stand out in every visual way it possibly could. At the time the hotel was built, back in the 19th century, there was no other building in town that rivaled its size or its beauty.
