Lesson Journal #3 Hemophilia involves different heredity inadequacies of coagulation factors resulting in prolonged bleeding times. The most classic form of Hemophilia is Hemophilia A. It seems that nearly all cases of Hemophilia A are reported in males and are characterized by bleeding in joints, gums, or mouth. Hemophilia B is the deficiency in the ability of the blood to coagulate. When parents who discover that their child has been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, they may go through a very emotional time—shock, depression, anger, etc. Therefore, if a parent feels that his/her child is suffering from Hemophilia. parents should first choose an appropriate time to speak with the child.
