4. Materials and Methods
4.1 Research approach
A quantitative approach was used to assess the effectiveness of nutritional support therapy in enhancing the level of Hemoglobin, Iron and vitamin C. The parameters studied were Hemoglobin, Iron, vitamin C level and its impact on physical work capacity and intelligence among adolescent girls at the selected higher secondary schools.

Sample size: Adolescent girls in the age group of 14-17 years who fulfill the inclusion criteria and selected by simple random sampling technique. Control group – 60 adolescent girls, Experimental group – 60 adolescent girls
Tool: Pre-test Data collection: Demographic profile, clinical profile including height, weight and BMI
Estimation blood hemoglobin, Iron, vitamin C, assessment of physical work capacity, and intelligence
Intervention: Experimental group – nutritional support therapy amla, jaggery and pumpkin leaves extract was provided for 90 days
Data Collection: Post-test data collection: After 90 days of interval, data was collected on the level of hemoglobin, vitamin C, iron, physical work capacity, and intelligence in both the groups.
Data analysis and interpretation by inferential statistics

The sahlis hemoglobinometer was used to estimate the hemoglobin content in blood from the fingertip blood. The reading is interpreted as normal (>12gm/dL), mild (9-11.9g/dL), moderate (7.1-8.9g/dL), severe (12gm/dL), mild (9-11.9g /dL), moderate (7.1-8.9g/dL), and severe (96), good (83-96), average (68-82), Low average (54-67) and poor (96), good (83-96), average (68-82), low average (54-67) and poor (<54).
