Hematocrit is a test that essentially test the total RBC’s volume in the blood. A small blood sample is extracted from the subject and the sample is then centrifuge to separate heavy components from lighter components. Once separate the individual components can be accurately measured and assessed for determining the percentage of the RBC’s in the sample.
