Hemangiosarcoma Case Study

Subjective: Kate a 7yr old spayed black lab was referred to LSU Oncology for further diagnostics post biopsy of an incomplete excised oral hemangiosarcoma of the sublingual mucosa extending into the skeletal musculature. The owners first noticed about a month ago that Kate would bleed after eating or playing with toys. Their veterinarian noticed a 3mm oral sublingual mass on the rostroventral surface and sent a biopsy to histopathology. Histopathology came back as a hemangiosarcoma. Kate was treated for heartworms 4 years ago and owners noticed some dermal lesions on the ventral thoracic wall.
Objective: BAR Temp:101.8 Pulse:100 Respiration:panting MM:pink CRT: <2secs BCS: 6 Circular dermal lesions were observed on the ventral thoracic wall. There were no other issues seen at this time.

Suspect the dermal lesions to be ringworm.
Plan: Perform thoracic radiographs and abdominal ultrasound to check for METS and have
