Throughout this year there has been many opportunities for one to improve their teaching practice and build upon their evidence towards the teaching standards (Department for Education, 2011). This essay will highlight and use evidence where necessary to demonstrate ones strengths, areas for development, threats and opportunities that have arisen over the year in relation to the teaching standards (TS). All points mentioned in this assignment will contribute to an action plan to help with ones newly qualified teacher (NQT) progression.

One area for development that will be included in ones action plan for their NQT year is the depth of differentiation included in planning (TS5). While one gained much experience in this area and had many successes including adaption ones teaching and plans to meet the needs of children who have speech and processing needs. One also used marking and feedback to help individual children. These success and more have been recorded in ones reflections (link). Also ones reflections included ones thoughts on less successful attempts (link). Following this placement one feels that one needs to make it clearer how the lesson and actives have been differentiated for the children. One also needs to make sure that they are clear in their planning in regards to the differentiation being by activity or outcome. Fautley and Savag (2013) claim that having the type of differentiation clear on planning helps give focus to lessons and allows the teacher to teach an effective …show more content…
The school one will be in for their NQT are consistently achieving and excelling in a range of areas including sports, arts and education. The range of specialist within the school will enable one to deepen their subject knowledge in a range of ares and one can use their feedback and advise to help improve their practice. Clear communication with staff will help develop ones practice and one needs to make sure that they also have clear communication with both parents and pupils to help with the pupils achievement and well-being. These actions will help one to continue to make progress towards TS8. Nias (2005) claims that teachers that fulfil wider responsibilities (TS8) are able to provide a more enriched educational experiences. It also helps one to improve a continue to develop as a
