“Helping the environment grow” For my ecology project I planted a desert native tree. My dad and I worked together to plant the tree in the ground. I planted the tree in a small dirt section near a cactus at my house. I planted a mesquite tree because it’s a desert native tree. The reason I planted it is because it will improve the environment around my house. I planted the tree October 20th. I planted it by digging a hole twice the size of the plant, then I put it in the dirt and created a moat to help it get water properly. My project was important, because of how much trees help the environment. Trees help get rid of climate change by removing high CO2, the more CO2 the higher chance of climate change. Trees also remove any contaminants there might be. Trees create many economic opportunities for the community like picking fruit and green waste

Trees clean any air containments. Trees also help get rid of global warming. The process of keeping a tree in good condition, as well as planting a tree gives a physical workout. The soil in the ground is cleaned by the roots. Trees also allow people to unwind and helps improve mental problems. (tree people volunteers) The first problem that I faced was finding a place to plant the tree. I had to find a place that would give full sun and where it will not run into any problems, like from my dogs. The next was trying not to water it too much or too little. Too much water and it will drown, and the plant cells will die. cells will dry out and the plant will shrivel and die if provided not enough water.
The problems I faced, and things I learned, with my project are as follows. I learned that I like having that responsibility also I like having a plant to call my own. I don’t really like the worrying with a plant because I don’t know a lot about plants. Does it look right, does it need more sun. All that tells me I need to learn about plants
