Helping The Community Of Salinas Research Paper

Helping the wonderful community of Salinas is a great impact on nature. What I did to help my community is take care of little kids at the Salvation Army for my hours. It’s a big responsibility to do because parents leave their kids in someone’s hands that they never met before. Even though it’s a hard thing to do because they’re small kids and take things differently, It’s also a great thing to do because some kids look up to you and rely on you. In general, Salvation Army is a great program because they donate clothes to those in need and feed them. Working there has impacted my life because there’s so many things we do that impact other people and we get to clean the beaches and donate clothes. It’s a fun and great experience, fun thing to do. I realized how much people litter and don’t clean up after themselves so it affects the oceans and the earth. I tell my friends to pick up after themselves and sometimes I pick up other people’s mess. …show more content…
Helping people out and doing something that helps the community impacts a lot even though if it’s something small. I have joined cleaning crews to help clean up our community and show little kids and adults, teenagers that it’s not hard to throw away their trash.
As a result, doing mistakes and making a scene out of everything can impact someone’s life, especially if you’re around young ones. People see everything and not picking up after yourself and acting normal can really do damage. I was inspired to act because it showed me how much helping the community really matters. My effort has helped people out and the community in many ways such as, cleaner air, less trash, happier people and less pollution. I learned from my effort that people appriciate it and are thankful for it. It’s a great feeling to have people look up to

When thinking about this, a few examples come to mind. For starters, I am on the soccer team. Soccer games usually get very heated. By remaining calm and showing my teammates and the other team what it means to search for peace in any given situation I can do my part in aiding the transformation of culture on the soccer field. When Mouw talks about sharing in the life of the poor, I can translate this concept to my college life by going out of my way to sit by someone in class or at lunch who rarely has someone to talk to.…

I devoted myself to being a key part of the interact club. I participated in events such as volunteering in local soup kitchens, Spicket River cleanup, earth day and helping to pick up trash around the city of Lawrence. After I saw what a difference I could make by just simply helping my community through the school, I decided to do some community service on my own. Following my trade area I went on to volunteer at Lawrence General Hospital. For example, in Baltimore and many other cities, people who are exemplary community members work to alleviate poverty, housing issues, unemployment, lack of education, and any other issues affecting the region. On a national or international scale, these people would work to impact similar problems along with others such political and cultural conflicts, long-term sustainability, and refugee crises. Someone actively involved in their community strives to find the solutions to problems that impact those around him or her, even if those problems do not impact that person specifically, because the mark of a true community member is that they understand that the betterment of an individual is linked to the betterment of others. This is why charitable acts and organizations that help the less fortunate are so integral to every…

An elderly woman who got to take part in a high school community service project states, “Many think that volunteering is all about what you give. But what catches you by surprise is how much you receive in return.” This demonstrates why many people do not feel that they should give back because they do not believe the benefits that they can get from it as well. Consequently, when creating that feeling of happiness and satisfaction in someone else’s life, it comes back to the person creating it. Volunteering to help someone get tutored, help the handicapped, involve themselves with a program like Meals on Wheels, certain environmental work, etc., not only does one gain from that, but one’s community has been helped because of them.…
