In this day and age attaining a respectable and good paying job is next to impossible without some sort of degree from a 2 or 4 year college or university. With that being said in this day and age going to college is like buying a very nice house or car, its expensive! Prices are 17% higher then what they used to be 7 years ago (“Undergraduate College”). There’s also been a drastic increase in the number of parents going back to school because they realize that if they want to make more money they will need a degree. According to the College Board association the average cost of tuition 4 year university is $32,504. $9,678 is the average amount for a 2 year public school. That is a lot of money people have to pay out of their pockets.

In the United States we have come up with ways of helping students pay for college. They can get grants, loans, or even scholarships. With this service students can pay the borrowed amount back in a couple of years or if they meet the criteria they don’t pay a single dime for their education. This is a beautiful system set up by our government that makes sure everyone that lives here and is a citizen can get an education. There have been arguments going around suggesting that we make student aid available to students who meet the academic requirements. In my opinion, financial aid should be rewarded to all students regardless of their grades because there are too many people that rely on it, many factors influence academic performance. Lastly because we should give these children a chance to succeed.
