Just as the article that prompted this essay, parents fear for their teens lives. This story made the author question himself about the risks of his child. “Not just any guy, mind you, but a young man wanted on charges relating to prostitution and physical assault on a child. The girl went by her own choice, and the couple spent nearly two weeks fleeing…”. The author is not the only parent doing this. Depending on a rebellious teens’ actions, determines the consequences. No parent wants to wake up to a runaway child. It does not even have to be a runaway, it could be them falling into peer pressure at a party. This one mistake could be turned into the nightmare that a family cannot wake up from.
Another reason for the good of a misbehaving adolescent is emotional stability. Self expression is a major key in the protection of a rebellious teen. Anger, bitterness, and having a negative attitude is all examples of the rage built up. “Unhealthy rebellion leads to a lack of mutual trust.” To prevent this from transforming into something worse, show constant love and discipline. Once a teen feels you understand them, they will respond with adequate reactions that “... feature sudden, extreme expressions of
