Helping Differences In America

Improved Essays
When I imagine the America I believe in, I picture a world where all kids get taught by teachers who care about their education and want them to excel. I picture a country where there are no tragic events and unnecessary deaths. As Henry Ford said “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” One of our biggest problems is our inability to work together to overcome our differences. We need to work together to become the America we all believe in.
I feel that everyone in America should be aware of this problem so we can solve it. Parents and teachers need to inform kids about major problems we have, too. American citizens have gotten to the point where we expect people to solve the problems

America’s future vison is continually changing. It appears that regardless of the ideas one sets for America it is never followed through. George Washington, one of America’s first great leaders and presidents, warned the young nation not to allow factions, such as political parties and foreign affairs to take part in United States. My vison for America is that we once again regain a clean slate by paying off foreign debts, allow more advanced teachings in schools, and reducing waste and pollutants. The foreign debt America has gained, in today’s day and age, is the highest it has ever been.…

America is a spirit. There is nothing as frustrating as turning on the television and hearing politicians, most of whom are in the right-wing, boiling this country down to a small set of founding principles. It would not be unimaginable that if a politician were to be asked to define America, he or she would say something along the lines of "America is a place that should provide equal opportunity to succeed, but also equal opportunity to fail". To those who have never struggled, vague promises of…

Finally, Obama provides a vision for an ideal public life where the citizens of America should be civil and know that they can question each other 's ideas without questioning each other’s love for their country and things they might not agree upon. Nevertheless, Obama explains how the true American Dream can be strengthened for future generations of Americans if today 's society simply works together and stops clashing heads so often. However, this ultimate goal can only…

The biggest problems in America that I’ll briefly go over are drug addiction, depression, and education. Education is the stronghold to solving predicaments within a community as well as worldwide. As different as every person can be we are still one thing, a human. A special thing about us is that we can share a bond, an emotion, and I believe we’ve become cultural psychopaths who don’t empathize with people who are different from us. Disclaimer:…

America is known for being the “land of opportunities” but is that really true? And if so, is it for everybody or only certain people? America differentiates people by their race and their social status and other reasons by giving them less or more opportunities which are not equal for each person. Therefore, America is not the “promised land” or the “land of the free” being that what they say are false promises. America is known for being the “land of opportunities” which is why people from all over the world come to America in search of new opportunities than what they have in their native land.…

The poor people are having a hard time keeping up because of the amount of money being brought home by way of the low wages of the have nots. As West and Smiley (2012) stated, “There is this gap between the have and the have-not, a growing gap, in fact. The well to do, people, seems to be putting more in their pocket, whereas, the average and poor just have enough to keep a roof over their head. “When 1 percent of the people control 42 percent of the country’s wealth-own and control 42 percent of the wealth and that’s a problem” (p. 7 & p. 35).…

Basic civil and human rights, availability of education without the fear of debt are visions of America I want to see. Civil rights include the ensuring of peoples' physical and mental integrity, life and safety; protection from discrimination on grounds such as race, gender, national origin, colour, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or disability; and individual rights such as privacy, the freedoms of thought and conscience, speech and expression, religion, the press, assembly and movement. Human rights are moral principles or norms that describe certain standards of human behavior, and are regularly protected as legal rights as laws. They are commonly understood as inalienable and which are "inherent in all human beings" regardless of their nation, location, language, religion, ethnic origin or any other status. They require empathy and the rule of law and impose an obligation on persons to respect the human rights of others.…

I personally do not think Americanism should be promoted in my school or community because America is a wreck. I have a suggestion on how to “Make America Great Again.” How about some laws against the use of guns? Innocent lives are being lost; many of those being young with their whole lives ahead of them.…
