Apollo has been called "The most Greek of all the gods". He is thought of as a beautiful figure in Greek poetry, depicted with long tangleless hair and a face of the beardless youth. He's treated as the master musician, the archer god, the god of light, the speaker of truth, and the healer. He's sought out by the people as an Oracle, the common folk looking towards him to know their prophecies and predict their futures. Apollo at Delphi was a purely beneficial power, since he guided the people to have a glance at the God's wills.…

Neon was discovered in the late nineteenth century. In the 1890s, John William Strutt observed that nitrogen extracted from the air was always slightly heavier than nitrogen obtained from chemical compounds. This curiosity was noted previously by Henry Cavendish, but it remained anonymous. ("Neon," 1999). In 1898, a Scottish chemist Sir William Ramsay (1852-1916) and English chemist Morris M. Travers (1872-1961) discovered neon just after they discovered the element krypton that same year.…

When a telescope with a spectrograph (a device that breaks light into a spectrum of color much like a prism) is pointed directly at a star, we are able to see black lines in the spectrum, which represent the absorption of photons. Scientists are able to determine what atoms the stars are made of by comparing the spectrums that we see from atoms here on earth. They know that the absorption spectrum of stars looks exactly like the absorption spectrum of hydrogen. With this information, they are able to determine that stars are made of mostly hydrogen.…

In this essay, I will discuss, compare and contrast the viewpoints of the Nebular Hypothesis vs. the six-day creation from the Old-Earth Secular View and Young-Earth Secular View. The Young Earth creationist believes that the Earth was created in the six-day creation and the old earth creationist believes that the Earth was created billions of years ago during the time of evolution of the Solar System. In the middle of summer, Apollo was walking in the midst of the mortals, disguised so that his true identity would not be revealed. He found mortals quite amusing, seeing as they weren’t impeccable like the gods and how melodramatic they could become in such short periods of time. He looked at them as simpler creatures, especially in mind’s capacity, compared to a god like himself. Even though he believed in a separation between mortals and deities, he found that he oddly enjoyed walking through them and studying their actions. One day, he found himself wandering through the woods where he soon became lost.…

The constellation I have chosen is found on the celestial equator, and is one of the most recognisable constellations in the world; Orion, named after a hunter in Greek mythology. Orion is made up of seven main stars that make something of an 'hourglass' shape, with four stars making a rectangle-like shape; Betelgeuse and Bellatrix making up his 'shoulders', and Saiph and Rigel making up his 'feet'. This rectangle is then tethered in at the middle by three stars to finish off the hourglass shape and act as Orion's 'belt'; these stars are named Mintaka, Alnilam and Alnitak. There are of course other stars that make up other aspects such as a sword, a shield, a club, and his head, but these are often too faint to see by eyesight alone and often…
