Finding what you want to pursue in life can be difficult, especially as a young adult in college. This seemed to be the case for 20-year-old Helen Mamo who came into the University of Maryland as an undecided student. As an undecided student, her choice to attend UMD was attributed to the school’s many opportunities. After declaring computer science as her major during her sophomore fall semester, Helen described her experience as “dreadful” and” boring,” and a choice her parents made for her. After wanting to prove to her parents that she knows what she wants, she chose to switch her major to journalism.
