Every single character in the book has had setbacks and despite them they showed determination and courage throughout the whole book. Courage is seen a lot through Anh’s family and they were always using every opportunity they had to better themselves. Despite being different and having experienced what people would definitely would not want to. Determination was seen clearly in every character and they would never give up until they had complete what they set out to do. Determination and courage are two of the many qualities they all show in the book and is what drove them to be successful and without these qualities they would never have been as successful as they are now.
