Heidi Roizen, a Stanford University graduate in creative writing, chose a unique way of advancing in her career which is through networking. After her MBA at Stanford, she went on to try her hand at entrepreneurship, then as Vice President in Apple. Later, she started coaching start-up’s as a mentor capitalist and eventually became a venture capitalist at Softbank. All throughout her professional journey, she focused on building her network through performance and consistency and constantly growing its’ breadth and depth. And, this has been very fruitful in building a successful career and a great reputation for herself in the technology industry. However, after increasing her role at Softbank to 80% and becoming a full-fledged venture capitalist, I believe Heidi wouldn’t have much time left to dedicate in expanding her network. At the same time, her existing personal and professional relationships might as well get affected.
Heidi not only had a broad network, but she also had profound relations with her network as she made people feel that she is personally connected to them. But, with this new role she wouldn’t have enough time to attend meetings with all the people in her network who look up to her for an important conversation and might have to turn down on them. This would impact her relationship with them and if

From watching the film, I understand that women who are incarcerated do not receive the proper prenatal care in order to give birth to children. I feel that shackling an incarcerated mother to a hospital bed, when in labor, is cruel and unnecessary. Doing so has the potential to increase the risk of a child and/or mother to experience problems during birth. After hearing Tina Torrez’s experience when giving birth to her daughter as an inmate, it was clear the care inmate mothers receive is unacceptable when compared to the care mothers who are not labeled as inmates receive. Hearing her experience bothered me because of the fact that even though she was pregnant and giving birth, she was still treated as if she were not a human with physical and emotional feelings.…

In the case of Andrea Yates, she is a Christian, home-schooling teacher who committed filicide on June 20, 2001. She took the kids in, one by one, into the bathroom of her home and drowned them. After killing the five children, she confessed her crimes to 911 dispatchers. When news of the story came to the public, it came as a surprise to those who only thought of her as one who could do no evil. In the perspective of others, this sin created a basis for judgment and questioning everything she has ever done and how her past actions foreshadowed to the future.…

Reconnaissance by artist Christine Hiebert is a shining example of simplistic minimalist art that seeks to demonstrate a wide narrative of meanings and ideas. By creating this piece Hiebert has managed to encompass expansive social paradigms reserved for the most socially attuned artists. Beginning with a formal examination of the piece brings the viewer to their initial inspection of the piece Reconnaissance. Featured in the Davis center of Wellesley College the piece is primarily constructed via the use of tape and glue attached to a wall. The wall in question contains various contours that help to give it an air of architectural dimensionality.…
