These two things are probably seen as very different in the army because discrimination against someone based on their skin color and what they look like is a lot worse than discrimination against a person based on their sex and relationship lifestyle. One could say that you could never change the way you look, it’s the way you are born whereas one can decide to hide their sexual orientation, especially in a place like the army where this type of discrimination is rampant. It is way worse when we put both issues side by side and compare
