Men love having more of a challenge when it comes to dating. This is where the cliché, “play hard to get” comes from. Also, it is thought that shy people are more trustworthy and more likely to stay faithful in a relationship. Similarly, testosterone levels are increased, making men feel more manly. This happens because men feel like they get to protect their shy girls. Also, they feel like their dominance is more favored in these relationships.
Is any of this true for shy men?
Some of it. Sometimes women like men who are rather shy because they (the women) like getting to know the men over a longer period of time.
