“Jesus had the Angels sing to me because I was scared”(Burpo xix). Heaven Is for Real by Todd Burpo is a memoir about a little kid named Colton Burpo. At the age of three, Colton Burpo had appendicitis. When he first got sick, his parents thought that it was the stomach flu, but as he kept getting sicker, they then realized that it had to be more than the stomach flu. Colton was having those I-should-have-stayed-in-bed kind of days. When he went to have surgery for his appendicitis, he claimed that he left his body during the surgery and went to Heaven. He claimed to have seen Jesus, even passed relatives that he never met before. The book was really good, it was an easy read and easy to follow along with.
