The song that caused the most emotional reaction was “Kindergarten Boyfriend”. It is about how this bigger girl falls in love with one of the jocks and whenever they grow up he, of course, resorts to fat shaming her like all the other people do. I reacted the way I did because that whole fat shaming thing happened to me in high-school and I know it sucks. The performance that the actress delivered was just so heartbreaking. What held my attention most of the musical was the songs changing from intense to straightforward, then into a parade of emotion. The mood were never the same; they were always going to opposite ends of the scale like happy, then sad, to psychotic. I think the actors and actresses did a wonderful job of delivering the notes. Sure it didn’t sound like they had done this musical for a full year, but other than that, I thought it sounded great! I like the Rock and Roll influence in plays, it makes them more edgy to me. This was a familiar experience as I was in theatre through out high school and still go to many
