Heathen's Song Analysis

The definition of heathens is a particular person who doesn’t belong to widely held religion. He can be an atheist or he can also be part of a particular religion that is within in a country (not world wide). Heathens can also mean an outsider of a particular group. Heathens are usually in small groups that can be called cliques (small group of people that have a close relationship and usually don’t allow outsiders to join them. The first line of the song states that all my friends are heathens take it slow so probably this means that the group he is in are all heathens so probably he can be considered a heathen. In the 3rd line of the song it says Please don't make any sudden moves because you probably don’t know what these people have gone through. The last line of the Chorus is you don’t know the half of the abuse, in this case you could refer to abuse as a negative experience the person has gone through in his life or a certain difficulty/ problem the person has had.

This dark and aggressive song, by Big Pun, promotes the idea of revenge, retribution and ruthlessness. It includes endless lines of pure violence and harsh messages written in breathtaking poetry, that is powerful enough to completely possess an individual’s attention. Big Pun is without a doubt lyrically gifted, but the morals and ethics he is advocating are troublesome for modern society. He describes murder as something he is born to do, essentially spreading the idea that he is good at it and proud. In addition to this, he raps about emotions of remorse being a negative thing, teaching people that “feeling bad” for others is not a desirable attitude.…

The Tribe is protesting a war they feel is pointless and has taken their friend (depending on which interpretation you go off of. The theme of war being a malicious subject also plays a pick impact as Claude calls off his numbers in the beginning this shows how war is willing to expand so many people for little gain, as the Vietnam war…

The first is that he is contemplating his own falling out and break down, his own loss of sanity. He could be implying that all the help and comfort he has been given has been faked, and now proves to be false hope. In this meaning, the last line would be him saying that all he wants is the truth. Another meaning is that he is continuing to hide how truly broken he is, how completely final and extreme his latest breakdown has been. No matter what others may say to him, no matter how many times they may ask, he will continue to assure them that he is fine.…

    a) I believe the message of this song is that our generation's duty is to bring change to how we live our lives every day, because if our generation waits, the world will become in a worse state. One particular part of the song where John Legend sings:, "No more broken promises; no more call to war; unless it's love and peace that we're really fighting for; we can destroy hunger; we can conquer hate; put down the arms and raise your voice; we're joining hands today," reveals the true intentions of what he wants to inspire with his song. He wants to raise awareness for the world's problems so that this generation can come together to fix them. Instead of pursuing our ongoing cycle of making empty promises to stop evoking hateful wars and starvation,…

A saying expressed in the music could be God speaking, “Nothing that formed against me shall stand” (Chris Tomlin). This song lyric is referencing God in that He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and that nothing or nobody will conquer Him. These words relate to the Christian culture because followers of the faith are supposed to believe this notion and are one of the main reasons why they consider themselves Christian. An example that the lyrics could be contrasting to could be Satan. The idea of the devil having precedence over God is a boundary and belief that should not be crossed by Christians.…
