Being an actor was just a small part of how much Heath was as a person. Heath Ledger was a man of many talents that made him the legend in acting and also the role model that he is today. He was a hardworking man, an excellent father and someone that was absolutely generous and kind to every person he met. Heath’s legacy that he left behind will never be forgotten.

Heath Ledger was born on April 4th, 1979 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia to French teacher, Sally Bell and racing car driver, also engineer, Kim Ledger. He was the second child of the two, actually named after Heathcliff from “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Brontë. As a child, Heath was very adventurous, exploring different sports such as Australian Football, hockey, surfing, and even go-karting. Being an adventurous boy, Heath clearly had a talent for an extreme amount of activities, especially acting and dancing. Heath’s sister Kate Ledger was also one who loved to act, and she had various acting agents. Kate tried helping her little brother and did succeed in doing so, casting him roles in a few television shows such as Ship to Shore as a cyclist.

His acting was totally different than what his other movies usually showed. It was confirmed by Ledger himself that he spent a month locked up in a hotel room to prepare for his role as The Joker. In a video that was from a documentary about Heath titled Too Young To Die, Heath Ledger’s father Kim was showing a diary Ledger kept during his time in the hotel room and throughout the filming of the Batman movie. There were photos of different movie villains that inspired his interpretation of the character, and what Kim showed that was spine chilling, is that on the very last page of the diary, Heath wrote “BYE BYE” in big block letters.
