Many dogs need to release the energy that increases throughout the day and giving them an outlet will make them too tired to destroy owners’ belongings. In addition to the obstacles, the parks can include other amenities such as dog run lanes, where owners can play with their dog free from anxiety and away from other dogs (APDT, 2016). In larger and more developed dog parks, amenities can include special events, educational opportunities, seminars, training classes, and some even offer “destination places for dogs and their owners” (Avrasin, 2004). A dog park would provide a safe environment for exercise and play in fenced-in areas for dogs only, rather than in open areas such as a public park.…

There are many pros to having a dog park built aswell as cons. Any dog owner would love to bring there companion to play in a big open field because they cant do that normally, due to the housing in the city where theres little to no room for a dog to run around an play in. In a dog park dogs can run free of leashes but anywhere else they MUST be on a leash, " Because it's against city ordinance for dogs to be off-leash in public areas...".
