Based on the title, i expected the book to involve something about extreme heat or temperature. Guy Montag is the main character and protagonist of Fahrenheit 451. Mildred Montag is Guy 's wife, who watches a lot of television and has tried to commit suicide before. Captain Beatty is the book burner captain who has a vast knowledge of literature. Professor Faber is a retired English professor Guy used to know and he is sort of like a mentor to Guy. Clarisse McClellan is an odd seventeen-year-old girl who is very curious about everything. Guy Montag is a fireman who is often irrational and is very ignorant to the world. He tries to search for the meaning of life in the books he is supposed to burn. He has a hard time thinking for himself

This event changes Montag and he becomes and he becomes an outlaw, realizing the people around him are not who he used to know. This event leads up to Montag meeting Granger and the Book People, and the bombing and rebuilding of the city.
I feel the ending of the novel is very fitting, Montag was brought out of his oblivion and he was reborn and met people who are similar to him.
As the novel closes Montag becomes a fugitive after killing Beatty and burning down his house. He meets the Book People, but still holds the regret of losing his wife, Mildred.
The central theme in Fahrenheit 451 is knowledge versus ignorance, Montag and the other firemen burn books to promote ignorance in order to create sameness in their society. As Montag searches to knowledge, he has doubt about the approach his society has taken to equalize the population; therefore, destroying his ignorance.
