Imagine going to the doctor for a mystery illness you’ve been dealing with for a while. Imagine being nervous about going, just because of society’s views and misconceptions about this illness. It’s debilitating and has cost you your job and continues to hurt relationships with loved ones. Think about how after talking to the doctor you are told they don’t know the diagnosis for sure, but prescribe you a medication that may or may not help you. This disappointment, and heartbreak is becoming more frequent each day. This is a typical doctor’s appointment for someone receiving help for their mental illness.
