Throughout our family we have always had heart disease in our genes, on both my mom’s side and my dad’s. I was lucky enough not to get it, but my brother wasn’t. My brother, Dante was born with no heartbeat the doctors took him out right away and revived him. They did tests and found out he had wolff parkinson white and long q t syndrome. A heart disease that mostly starts happening when he does physical movements. His heart will start to be very fast, up to over 400 beats per minute which creates too much blood in the body and can cause you to do within 30 minutes if not treated. When Dante was younger he played hockey, the doctors didn’t like it but since he was so young and there wasn’t so much competition they said he could play. Our family was out to skate together at the Oval and Dante loves competition. He kept asking my older brother to race around the rink with him. They kept doing it and doing it until we had to leave. As Dante was taking off his skates my mom noticed he started to turn pale. She checked his pulse and noticed it was abnormally fast. We quickly left and headed to the hospital. This was very scary for me as a 7 year old because I had never seen my parents so scared before

After completing lab 4a questions on the Heart Disease Risk Factor Questionnaire I totaled a score of 22. Having history of heart disease in my family on my mother side was one of the ones I I got high risk points on. Another one I got high risk point on was regular physical activity. I need to put more effort into exercising. "Regular exercise can help prevent heart disease and stroke by strengthening you muscle, lowering your blood pressure, raising your high -density lipoprotein(HDL) levels (good cholesterol) an lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels (bad cholesterol), improving blood flow, and increasing your heart's work capacity."(Davis 2017)…
