For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’” Matthew shows us the importance of helping others in need, and how we are blessed by God in doing so. He tells us that God is present in every one of His children, and that by helping others we are seeing the image of Him in them. In return for the good work done in His name, we are granted our own kingdom. This passage invites everyone to see God in everyone, and to serve those in need to help lift them up. Matthew’s words relate to my work because they show me that we should always help those in need, and that everyone is equal in God’s eyes and is made in the image of God. This means that I should treat them as equals and do everything in my power to give them what they need to succeed. I was able to help do this by packing bags of food to give out to people who need them so that they could have warm meals that
