In today society with obesity being on the rise everyone in the world seems to be talking about losing weight while there is a small minority of people like I that would like to gain a few pounds. When trying to gain weight you do not want to add on pounds by loading up on unhealthy fats and sweets. I would also like to make you aware of the fact; gaining weight can be as difficult as losing weight. This I am aware of from personal experiences. I have been the same size since I was in junior high. I may gain a few pounds, but maintaining them can be very hard. After doing some research I have to say the most important thing that I learned is the definition of healthy weight gain. In an article in Shape Magazine, Ask the Diet Doctor: The Healthy Way to Gain Weight, Dr. Mike Roussell defines healthy weight gain as weight that primarily comes from muscles. Adding a little muscle to your body will not just increase your weight, it will improve your life. Building and maintaining muscle is a key strategy for fighting the aging process, in addition to giving you the look that most men and women strive for. Getting muscles while trying to keep your stomach flat take plenty of hard work, because you gain fat as well while try to build muscle mass.
