Healthy diet is food that is rich in nutrients ,vitamins and minerals and is essential for the proper functioning and repair of the human body. Yet it is noticed that many times ,the meaning of healthy food is misinterpreted by people and it has varied meanings across various cultures and nations. The perception towards healthy diet is the consumption of a diet rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals and food which is low on fat, sugar, oils ,etc
While the classification of food consumed depends on people who are influenced by different economic environments, different social environments.
In various studies it has been proved that a healthy diet is only proffered to by the people who can afford it and not by people who do not have enough resources to afford it

Review of literature:
A healthy diet usually has a complex set of determinants and the main factors which form it are the individual perspective of a person’s of making a choice of what to eat.
The environmental factors affect the eating behavior at large and the public view of what is healthy diet and what is not, are collective determinants of the perception of a healthy diet.
It is important to be noted that a wide range of collective factors are responsible for food choices which include the availability of food options at a given time, the individuals social status, income level and one’s family, friends and peers make a very important role in the choices an individual makes to choose food which clearly shows that food is chosen more on the basis of one’s culture and social background and personal choice does not play a very important role in determining an individual’s
