Healthy Child Development

This lecture was very informative. I was able to thoroughly understand and make connections to my own self. While going through the PowerPoint, I found myself asking many questions. There were some things that I already knew before and also some things that I was shocked to find out. The thing that intrigued me most regarding this topic was the countries listed as having the tallest and shortest children. I would have never thought that the United States would have some of the tallest children compared to the rest of the world. The middle childhood is the period in which children start going to school and eating school lunch. I do not believe that the school lunch that are provided are essential and suitable for a growing child’s diet. When I was in elementary school, I remember thinking that I was eating “fake food”. Usually the school’s aim is to make the foods healthy, with all the essential vitamins and nutrients. Seeing children with unhealthy bodies and poor development is very heartbreaking knowing there is a chance to avoid the conditions with simple precautions and healthier steps toward a nutritional life. I hope to be open with my patients and can keep track of their development. This is vital for a healthy life. I will thoroughly explain what is important for a strong development. I am an advocate for healthy and strong living. Volunteering at places that encourages healthy lifestyle is a great start. Change begins with me. If I can change my habits, I could influence people to change their own habits. I do not always take the best care of my body. Perhaps, with eating healthy and exercising, I can encourage people to do the same. I would use compassion to achieve this. I would push people that I know to develop a healthier mindset and love themselves in all
