I think that the US did need a healthcare reform, because I am one of the few people that think that healthcare is a right and not just for the privileged. I think that healthcare should be a right because everyone needs it at some point in their lives and I feel that if we have a universal healthcare system like many other countries, the US could be in the top percentage of life expectancy rates. The US needed a reform on healthcare because, in my opinion our healthcare system were only for the wealthy and people who had very good jobs. I had health insurance growing up, but the insurance was not efficient and would cost a large amount of money out of pocket. The first myth that I learned that shocked me was that the Affordable Care Act will not cut Medicare drastically. This surprised me because when the Act was being proposed my grandpa did the research and was worried about him and my grandma’s health insurance. They were worried that they would be dropped and lose their doctors they have gone to for years. My grandpa is really smart and does his research so to find that, this part was a myth made me really happy to know that they would not have to do that.
