I want to do this by achieving a M.D. and a M.P.H. My objective is to create easily accessible and stable interventions that can be community-lead that can lay a foundation that can be built on. I want to implement programs to eliminate the educational, socio-economic, and cultural barriers between those in need and those who can provide assistance. I specifically want to focus on healthcare literacy so that there is accurate patient-doctor communication. This includes language differences that prove to be a barrier to healthcare. Effectively educating patients about their illnesses and ailments can provide a means for better recovery. This will also provide information on preventative steps to take in the future, saving them time and money but also improving their outlook on their own health and wellbeing. Additionally, I want to debunk the negative stigma associated with healthcare settings by the minority populations. The combination of what is learned through the pursuit of the M. D. and M. P. H. degrees will allow me to be better equipped to combat the obstacles I will face in my attempts to alter the downward state of health in marginalized communities.

As a future physician I want to be able to rally those around me to strive for the best possible healthcare for marginalized
