4.1 Some of the different types of occupational opportunities are:
Social worker – A social worker works with people who have been socially excluded or that are experiencing a bad time. Their main role is to give support to their service users.
Physiotherapist – A Physiotherapists work with individuals of all ages, couples and families to help them overcome any psychological or physical problems that they may have.
Nurse – A nurse works with people of all different ages. There are many different types of nurses but every nurse’s main role is to be caring and nurse their patient back to health. Care home manager – A care home manager is responsible for running the day to day care home. They oversee all the activities throughout the day and they also make sure the patients are getting the good quality care they need.
Dementia nurse – A dementia nurse works with patients with dementia and also their families. They work together with other professionals that work with the patient’s family to help them cope with looking after a person with dementia.

He was repeatedly beaten until he eventually died from a blow to his head that stopped him breathing. The doctors and social workers missed many of the signs of abuse and neglect which led to baby P’s death. This caused a lot of concern for the public as they were left wondering why nothing was done to prevent Baby P’s death. Baby P’s saw his GP 14 times before his death where he examined his bruising, but never did a full body examination because he was tired and cranky. His social worker found 12 accounts of bruising to his body and reported it to the police. The police found a family friend to look after baby P while his mother and stepfather were arrested twice, released and allowed to have baby P back in their care. I think it is a very difficult task to predict whether or not a child is being abused and the bruises on baby P’s body could have looked a lot like accidental bruises from him falling over, but in my opinion I think that the police, doctors and social services could of done a lot more to protect baby P. They could have organised more unexpected home visits, they also could have organised for baby P to have regular check-ups every 4 weeks or so. An alternative option for social services would have been to put baby P in care at the first sign of him being in
