Something that stood out to me on the slide said, “By age 50, 80% of our lifespan is determined by lifestyle”. I didn’t think that much of a 50 year olds lifespan would be depending on their lifestyle. I believed genes would still play a big portion of their lifespan until they reached the “young old” age range which is 65 to 74 years old.

The list of “life-span vs. Health-span” can be associated to the things that the “blue zone” centenarians do to increase their lifespan. The list consisted of “regular exercise” which the centenarians regularly incorporate into their everyday routines, “ Satisfying Personal Relationship” which they accomplish through faith based communities and putting their family first, “Moderate Alcohol Consumption” which
