The concept of diversity is acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe and positive environment. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.
Equality is about ensuring that every individual has equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents. Equality is also to not be deprived of certain things such as a shelter just because where, what or whom you are. What they believe or whether they have a disability, equality recognises that historically a certain group of people with certain characteristics e.g.: race, disability, sex and sexuality have faced discrimination. Equality means that every body has equal rights to provide the equal rights in the setting you will need to provide for their special needs. We cannot treat the children equally unless we give them equal rights
