The LPN education I received was extensive, but a diploma is earned, and while it affords me many job choices in health care, it also limits me. I currently am employed at a stand-alone SMO (Site Management Organization). To move “up the ranks” within this company it

In my perfect world people would live healthy lives; they would always pick the healthy option rather than the cheap more convenient one. Free clinics would be more readily available for the homeless or less fortunate. The public would be interested in precautions on how to prevent the spread of diseases and illnesses. Realistically this is a challenge that our world faces and is one of the many reasons why I want to pursue a degree in nursing. My desire to enter into the medical field and become a nurse stems back to when I was an adolescent; I can remember watching Dr. 90210 do multiple surgeries on patients and I can just remember myself saying “I want to be able to make people feel good about themselves, no matter what.”…

There are times when the healthcare professional may unintentionally provide information that they should not have. JAMA February 2012 “Unintended disclosures may occur in a variety of ways. For example, when pressed for time, providers may be tempted to discuss a patient in the elevator or other public place, but maintaining privacy may not be possible in these circumstances. Similarly, extra copies of handouts from teaching conferences that contain identifiable patient information should be removed at the conclusion of the session in order to protect patient privacy.” CONCLUSION…
