Health Promotion Strategy

The aim of the health promotion strategy was to develop the personal skills of the target group, since the majority of the target group had witnessed cyber bullying previously (refer to Appendix, Figure 3, Graph 3). A health promotion strategy was developed to enhance their knowledge, behaviour and amend their attitudes to positively address cyber bullying situation in the role of bystander, which in turn create a supportive environment at MSHS. Before conducting the health promotion strategy, a pre-survey was conducted during 35 minute lesson to evaluate the current knowledge of the group (refer to Appendix, Figure 1). After evaluating the knowledge of the group from the pre-survey, it was evident that approximately over 62% and 68.75% of the students did not understand cyber bullying and bystander respectively. Therefore, a series of activities were developed into a lesson plan to address the lack of knowledge of the target group, in order to improve their personal skills (refer to Appendix, Figure 2). …show more content…
Over the course of a 70 minute lesson, five activities were conducted. One of the main activities consisted of a short video clip which was aimed at developing the personal skill of the target group by evoking discussion and enhancing their knowledge about cyber bullying and negative bystander behaviour (refer to Appendix, Figure 4, Graph 2 and 4). The video allowed students to make connections between cyber bullying and negative bystander behaviour.
