While health promotion can be defined by many different terms, the theme of promoting activities that will increase a person’s well-being resonates within our activity. When the mind and mental health of a person is nurtured, the health of the body will often follow, resulting in improvement in one’s overall health and well-being. We learned that health promotion strategies do not have to be complicated and that the simplest activities can often be the most effective ones. Intervention can be something as simple as telling a joke to someone who looks upset, “goofing off” with a friend who is studying for a stressful exam, or smiling at a stranger. This can improve not only the experiences of other people, but also one’s own mental health. Charles Dickens wrote that “there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour” (1843). With his words in mind, making someone smile and laugh may cause a chain reaction, touching the lives of many in a simple but meaningful
