One of the best examples of this is with their insight into the behavioral health needs in the communities. Realizing that reimbursement issues make it difficult to provide patients with physical and mental health options at the same time HCA is committed to trying to find a balance whether it is addressing patients in the emergency departments that have behavioral issues or the cardiac patient that is depressed. By working with military bases near their hospitals they have been able to identify what the needs are and have either expanded their psychiatric services by opening new beds or opening new facilities (HCA, 2014).
Network Growth
No health care organization can prosper without being fiscally responsible and future oriented. HCA has been able to sustain and grow their admissions, surgeries, emergency room visits while increasing their revenue. Their market shares have increased by more than 1% over a three-year period (HCA Investor Update, 2016).
