In 2003, About 17% of older adults did not have health insurance, mainly due to cost(PMC). The Affordable Care Act (ACA), now helps those patients to get health insurance without insurance companies declining due to previous or present illnesses. However, this is still not beneficial to most, as many are still in need of health insurance. An example, A client may get into an accident and needs to get surgery fast, with no insurance, the cost can start to pile up creating many of those in debt. Medicaid, insurance for the poor, and Medicare, insurance for those 65 and up, are beneficial to an extent. People who are only a bit above the poverty line, are unable to apply for Medicaid, yet they also may not have the sufficient funds to apply for a type of insurance. This will produce many to leave minor issues unattended, creating bigger health issues in the future. While health insurance and poverty don’t have much of a connection to education, small problems become big over time. When connecting health insurance, education, and the economy, much can be done, but much is also ignored. Instead of kids being home on their phones, they could be signed up to volunteer in facilities that help benefit the poor. Society can become educated on those that are in the poverty line, finding beneficial ways that help. Simple things like, creating more programs or doing volunteer works help keep the word out. Poverty has yet not decreased, so why simply ignore it when it doesn’t affect the rest of the majority in
