Health Information Management: A Career In Nursing

I choose Health Information Management (HIM) as my discipline to research on. This was not my first choice as a career, nursing was. But life has a way of guiding you down the path to your ultimate final destination. I have been working as a HIM clerk for 3 years. I fell into the job by accident. I was hired as a part time temp, to work in the Finance and Fund Development as a data entry clerk. After about 6 months I was asked to fill in for a few days in the HIM Department. The minute I walked through the door I was hooked. My temp assignment grew into weeks which soon grew into months, and very shortly, I was hired on as a full time permanent employee and I've never looked back.
