This leads me to concern about dealing with the powers of bureaucracy, and how it can create barriers to limit a more transformative approach. A more transformative approach would be to let everything be dictated from the voices of the community, and utilizes the power and resources of the organization. Community member should control their organizing and services, while people running the institutions utilize their privilege to build power and support for the communities. It gives a sense of powerlessness, because it allows people with degrees save them from misfortunes. When organizations give resources and let communities dictate the way in which their liberation will set them free, it creates a consciousness raising, in which communities will realize true liberation lies within the capacity of their individual and collective power. This is what sustains the movement: when people who are being affected by harsh cycles of inequality take powers into their own hands and make change. Veggielution prioritizes on building community power, and not direct service. They connect communities with food, to allow people to connect with the food they eat, instead of rely on the endorsement of the horrible conditions of factory farming. This is a stepping stone to mobilizing communities for justice, since they will be able to see the problem lies within structural oppression, rather than an individualist
