The National Coordinator for Heath Information Technology is releasing a new tool to help health care providers. This tool is called Health IT Playbook; it is designed to make heath information technology easier. The “Playbook is an active, web-based resource that builds on and updates the Patient Engagement Playbook for Providers.” Although there have been advances in technology the past years, still providers are facing some challenges. It can be tough for providers when it comes to “navigation electronic health record (EHR) systems and figuring out what tools and functionalities are applicable and helpful to a specific practice or situation.” To eliminate such problems, the Playbook was designed. With this new technology, the provider can easily access key information, such as HER contract guide, interactive map, and Security Risk Assessment (SRA) Tool. The new Playbook is also designed to be revised, updated, and expand it. Which helps physicians provide better services (Thomas A. Mason, 2016). …show more content…
Although technology has advantages and disadvantages when it comes to healthcare the advancement of medical technology has improved the healthcare today. Due to the progression of medical technology we are able to solve many mankind’s problems. Technology plays a crucial role in healthcare because it has allowed physicians to better diagnose and treat their patients. For the expansion of technology in the medical field, many lives have been saved and the quality of care continues to progress over time. The development of new technology tools to help providers will impact me as a health care manager because it is my responsibility to make sure patients are getting the best care possible. Keeping patients at my hospital healthy is my goal as a manager for that reason, having advanced medical technology will help make tasks easier and reaching the hospital
