Health disparities among African Americans in prenatal care is an unspoken dilemma in the media that our society is facing. There are a multiple of disparities that the African Americans community faces. I considered the root of problem to start in utero. There is a major gap between socioeconomic status and the education of prenatal care that African Americans receive. Therefore, there is a greater risk for lower birth weights and mortality of infants in the African American community. African American are prone to certain diseases. They have an increase probability of hypertension, becoming diabetic, and having infant with low birth weights. These diseases could be taken care of with primary prevention education.
